two problems at moment 2012 xf 800

Its a 2012 xf 920 bigbore with boysen reeds and bdx 50 mm. First is how do i set idle on this? I turn right rpms drop turn left they climb. Disconnected tss. Cable is running correct path that stock is. I dont want telescopic bars raised all the way up. I like them low or bext click up. Am i being dumb on this. Do i need to bring idle up on throttlebodies and take slack from cable?


Second is my recoil. I had sled at dyno and it pulled super hard and seemed to not go back in recoil like before. Got sled home put slp rope in and today went to start and it wouldnt go back inside at all. Pulled recoil and messed with it and it went back in. Now it seems tbat rope mite be too short. Any thoughts as it still seems slow sucking back inside housing.

i would guess that your cable is not adjusted properly,thus the rpm change when turning.second ,sounds like your recoil spring is weak and needs to be changed.

So do i loosen cable and set idle on tbpdys then pull slack on cable?

yes sir.adjust idle with cable un done from flipper if you want.then hook it up again.idle should not change with it hooked up.if it does then you have to adjust cable.there should be an adjustment in the cable to lengthen or shorten.hope this helps
