Team clutching on 2012 Cat

Hey ya’ll. Recently picked up a 2012 m8000 for a backup sled and noticed it has a team primary but still an older Cat secondary with a bdx kit.. I was under the assumption that to run a team primary on the older proclimb there also needs to be a team secondary. Has anyone done this and had it work with only the primary? I can only tell so much when I can’t get it on the snow yet.. any knowledge is appreciated!

If it is a Team primary without a roller in the bottom like the 2016-2017 sleds then there shouldn't be any issue other than making sure the clutches are aligned properly. Can run a 083 or 084 belt with that setup. If it is a Team with a roller bearing primary then need to run a 111 belt and either swap the secondary clutch or modify the secondary so it can close up all the way to let the belt run tight.
 
I have swapped a few early Proclimbs to Team clutching. Need to change out jackshaft to run newer secondary. Not a bad idea anyway as lots of the early 12-14 jackshafts were weak and were the root cause of many of the early belt issues.

Bumping this thread as i just bought a Team Primary for my 2013 M800, Ebay seller had it listed as removed from a 2014 m800.

See my post #2 above. Can't tell what style it is by that year. 2014 model year didn't come with Team clutches so a previous owner swapped it on there. Hopefully they didn't label it as a Team and it's really the regular cat clutch from that year.

What was happening with the jackshaft?

They would fatigue and break. 2015s got updated design and you can buy those kits for less than $100. Then it changed again in 2016 with the Team BOSS design where the clutch bushings run right on the shaft surface.
 
It is a team clutch that was used on a 2014,(i was avoiding getting another cat clutch and dealing with seized rollers), the sled i have allready had the big fin secondary on it when i bought it

By the build date (2015) it is a 2016 model so doesn't have the roller in the bottom. Check offset with your secondary and throw your old belt on and run it!
 
What was happening with the jackshaft?
Flexing and breaking. Updated shaft was made heavier and of a better material. The flex was a cause of a lot of belt issues that special braces, updated thicker/heavier secondary and venting never really addressed. The self centering bearings allowed the flexing to happen with the weaker shaft. By the time Cat fixed that issue they moved on to the Team setup and the previous clutching took a lot of blame for belt failures that were actually the jackshaft being root cause.
 
Correct there is no roller, looks like it has the BDX clutch kit with a green 125-310 spring and 64-86G mag adjustable weights (no magnets in the arms so 64g) Would i use a 1.485 alignment bar on this?
