snow check choices

time is running out on snow checking the rev4.
I cant believe how much trouble I am having making
up my mind. I never liked the push of a long track
but riding the rev 4 165 was like riding my 154.
I am either doing a 3" 154 or more likely trying the
2.5" 165. the snow we had in Washington this year
was amazing and a 3" would have been awesome,
but this wasn't a normal year. what did u choose
and why? just want to hear more input on this

I run a 2013 Xm 154 and a pro 155. I jumped on a t3 154 a few weeks ago and I will be checking a 154x3. I like the front end to be light.....I learned how to do reentries this year and hoping to try whips next year. I can't imagine trying those on a 165. I've had 3 days out of 30+ days of riding this year where I wish I had a longer track. In the trees I've never felt disadvantaged with a shorter track.

I cant decide either..
Actually considering the Axys also.. 0% for 60
I have a 13 XM that will make it 1 more season.. So if I wait out the first year G4, I wont have an in season deal until 2018
So that makes my XM real old by the time I have a new Doo
So... Maybe a left over 16 Axys
For 2 seasons until I can get my hands on an inseason G4??

This was a average year in Washington. We've just had a couple bad ones but taking those couple out even tho two years ago wasn't horrible, this was still a average year. Lots of people only get to ride the weekends and they might think that but we had over a dozen rides that long tracks shined in. 2 weeks ago March 15 was crazy deep at Snoqualmie pass.
The 165 rides like a shorter sled, ride what you have the most fun on but i bet the 154-850 gonna be a wheelie monster and a handful.

Another thing to consider is weight. If you weigh over 200 ready to ride I'd go with the 165. I weight 190 rtr so I think I'll be ok with the 154. Some of my buddies think I'm crazy for getting the 154. These buddies have 154x3 t3's and they can't keep up to me on my turboed 2013 Xm in any situation except when it's super deep. (4'+) That 3" lug just pushes a lot of snow no matter the track length. When it gets super deep the 3" can keep up to me most of the time.

Really like the Orange, but my experience told me they get way to dirty. Ordered a 165, 3" in black. I have two Pro 163's and one AXYS 163". Love the 2.6 on the AXYS and love the motor, but thought I'd add a Doo to the stable. I went with the 3" after riding an XM 163" 3" this year. We found some deep stuff near Steamboat and that thing really hooked up. Again, not unhappy with my Poo's in the least, just thought something different would be nice.

I'd go 165x3" for Washington. This winter was an El Nino winter which was slightly worse than normal, next winter should be average which will better than this winter and hopefully the two winters following that will be La Nina which means it will be deep. :D

I believe the Washington snow was dryer this season with way more deep days than usual. luckily I get to ride when conditions are best. that being said, not sure a softer 3" paddle will work well in the slurpee snow we get a lot of the time.

as for going from a 154 to a 165, I am concerned that
doing drops and jumping with the longer track is going to
be a challenge for me. any jumpers on here that went to a longer track? how did it work out for you?

I didn't spend much time on the new sled at the shoot out but I know some of the other guys did and probably have a much better feel for the track than I do. From my time in the mountains in the Baker area, I expect the next two winters to be better than this one. Think 1998-1999 or 2009-2010.

I ride Baker/Anderson %95 of the time but plan on getting to BC, Idaho, and Montana more often so I ordered 3" 165. Coming off 14 163" XM and was very happy with it. Riding weight is about 210. Pondered the 154 3" but I'm getting older and have **** skills anyway so decided to go bigger...if it's may more agile than my 14 I will have no issues.

As far as I know, the Poo tracks are softer durameter (spelling? Softer rubber compound) than any of the Doo tracks since the 2.4" came out and they don't have many issues with the concrete. I know my 2.4" 155 was much softer than my 14 XM track is. My concern is that I have heard of a few XM tracks having issues separating/delaminating, with the 10lb loss and way more porting will this track hold together????

I cant decide...
What sled will have better resale?

How about BRP stock?
Would be a great idea if the sled came with a couple shares.

What about the extras... you guys choosing the Electric Start? Or the 4th year warranty... And Why?

I have never had an e-start sled, but think it would be same concept as a dirtbike, not knowing until you have one.

No on the E-start
I dont like the battery location and the cover looks stupid

No on the 4th year warranty
Only going to keep it 2 years at most

I would choose both, yes true like a dirt bike once you have e-start you never go back and the 4 year is awesome even if you don't keep the sled selling one with 2 years of warranty makes a huge difference to a person looking and warranty is transferable with sled. I would not worry about pull start not being on, but if you go with warranty and have your dealer instal the e-start then you will have both but you will pay more for it, as per installation. The new battery placement is better than before, and you don't have to remove it to work not he chain case etc. Simple wiring goes under gas tank and cover just covers it up.

Went with E-start and three year warranty. All my sleds have had e-start since 2008. Won't own one without it.
