Skinz super q silencer

Was wondering if anyone out there has a super q can on an m1000, and was wondering if anyone has had trouble with it causing a bog or any other performance issue

I've run them on stock, mild mod, and full mod 1000's, 07-09.

Never had any kind of bog from them, and we've tested them side by side on each sled.

I've heard of sea level guys saying that they caused a bog down there though... not sure if that's for real or not.

I run one on mine without any problems.

What is your elevation and what other mods, if any, do you have done?

What about same can on a 11 m8?
bought one to put on my m8 and it is the same part# as my old m1000 super-q.

I have the super q on my 11 m8 ltd. I rode with it all last season with no bog at all. I ride between 8000 -12000'. Only issue was that I had to make up a gasket to seal around where the exhaust exits the sled.

Same as M8high here. 2011 m8 sp, had one on all last year and not a single complaint. Big weight savings too.

super q

I think I've noticed a little low end bog on my 08 xfire 6 from low level to 10000+ but haven't compared side to side with stock. Worth the weight savings though.

I liked mine and didn't have a bog. The only thing I would like to see added to the can is a plate to block off the bellypan opening like SLP uses.

Developed a bog on my 10 m8 as the super q broke in, seemed to get very loud, maybe internally something happened. Skinz replaced under warranty, sold the new can and bought the ultra q, runs better on my sled.

I have a Super-Q on my 11 M8, no bog, but I wish it sealed better between the pipe and can. Anyone know where I could find a donut gasket that would work?

skinz exhaust seal

Great idea! I am trying to figure out way to seal off to keep exhaust out of the engine compartment. Considered having a plate welded, your gasket solutions seems easier. What did you use and do you have a pic? (after hours of searching found some good ideas here http://www.snowestonline.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249924&highlight=skinz)
I have an ultra-q on my m8 and like it but had to trim the tip because it poked out into the open, but only an issue when pushing snow with my headlights. I run it on a stock sled, had a bdx intake but took it off and now it actually runs better and is much quieter.

Not to steal thread over super q can but I have a question related to same issue. My daughter rode a firecat f7 with a 151 and a aftermarket can and it had a stutter at wide open throttle from a dead stop. The other three firecats wich were all 2003 were stock and no stutter. Put stock muffler back on and no more problem. Now the question I just bought her a 2010 hcr with 500 miles, Clutching stock for 6-9k, power valve cables correct and plugs new. All stock other rhan can and at wide open throttle stutters real bad from a dead stop. Put stock muffler back on runs perfect. weight savings is the objective but no stutter is preferable.

I just used an RTV or exhaust silicone or something similar (not sure exactly). I used blue tape on the underside to create a 'template' of sorts. I then applied multiple layers of silicone to create a gasket. It worked fine all last season and looks as though it just needs a touch up to be ready to go for this season.
