Any others reported that have caught fire?
Pretty difficult to prove what happened and that it’s a manufacturing defect if it’s the only one.

Yea I know but sometimes a little can go along way to goading corporations into fixing the issue .
I think when I put mine away for the summer the lipo battery is coming out and going on the bench just cus !!!

Let it play out, that's why we have insurance. Let THEIR lawyers fight it out with Cat if there is a reason to. It sucks and I hate to see a fellow sledder go through this....

SO final update, Cat/Textron warranty office said go pound sand because I had insurance. Insurance paid out satisfactorily, I dont think the insurance is doing any legal activity, but agent does not know. Looking at that black/purple sno pro, with NO e-start...

The more I thought about what happened and me putting estart on a 2016 m8000 snow pro and 3 weeks later having a similar issue minus the fire I found the 5 or 6 pin relay ( don't remember how many pins lol) had some intermittent issues , you would start the sled and shut it off and the starter motor would continue to run only way to stop it was to remove battery cables so I replaced it and all is good maybe could have been the cause ???

Yeah had to have been something like that, only cut my riding season a couple rides short, but the PIA of dealing w it all. Some good used ones coming up on fb marketplace right now but I'm in dirt mode

Copy but it's better to buy now when their is little to no snow then when it starts to fly this fall !!!! The dirt will be around all summer !!
