Ride near Chico Hot Springs

From Montana but normally ride west of Bozeman - anyone have any recommendations for a good 1/2 day "girlfriend" ride while staying a few days at Chico that's close driving from there.....would go nuts sitting around for a weekend in January without a ride.....maybe something that gets some good altitude for a view...easy/moderate conditions.

Your best bet would probably be going up Mill Creek. It is located halfway between Pine Creek and Emigrant. 30-40 minutes to the parking lot from Chico. It is mostly road riding and in a canyon, so there isn't much for views, but it is quite pretty and scenic. About the only other close choice would be Goose Creek. It is in between Trail Creek and Bozeman. Would be about 50 minutes from Chico. Not as much riding up there as Mill Creek and all road riding, but it is open in places with decent views. Any questions or need better directions let me know.

Is there any ridding up tom miner basin?the hot water would feel good after a ride...

All of Rock Creek was closed down when Judge Malloy threw out the travel plan. I am guessing that means Tom Miner is closed as well, but I am not positive.

Thanks for the info BigAir, if that comes together I may take you up on the offer for some better direction.....other than that, once I find the pool at Chico I know the bar is nearby and will be OK from there !!
