Questions re; 2012 Polaris 800 RMK

A friend is looking at a 2012 800 RMK w/ 1,900 miles on it. It apparently underwent an engine rebuild 700 miles ago.
I would like to know if this model had any issues. I am curious as to why it would have required an engine over-haul at only 1,200 miles!
Anything to be concerned about?

thanks in advance,

Rick E.

So fyi, the picture of the red rmk you attached is not a 2012, that is a 2016 or newer. Both are 800's, but different engines.

If it really is a 2012, it wouldnt be uncommon to put a set of pistons in it at 1200 miles. Sometimes they are needed, sometimes guys just do it as preventive maintenance.

If its a 16 or newer, those are much less common to need pistons before 2,000 miles.

If your new to polaris 800 mountain sleds, they all go through pistons every 2-3,000 miles.

Thank you for the comments.
By the way, that is the photo that was given to my friend and was to either depict or represent the Polaris that is for sale. Perhaps this guy was trying to "doop" my friend.

Anyway..... my friend has decided against purchasing it.
