push turbo problems

Bought my ist new turbo kit from ken hunter at push turbo early this fall. Install was ok with instr. a little vague. First test ride in November uncovered several problems Altitude compensation didn't work and afr at WOT was extremely lean at 14 to 1. Its now nearly c mas and my sled is sitting in my shop in an unridable condition because after many discussiouns and promises from MR.Hunter nothing has been resolved. Ken seems to be a niceguy and the fit and finish on the kit is great but it appears that new sales are far more important . My buddy experienced the same type of problem and his sled sat for nearly 2 seasons before the kit worked as promised. I just thot I would share my story with potential buyers.

why did you buy a push kit instead of a kit thats got a better reputation like mcx, boost it etc when your buddy was already having lots of problems dealing with push?

I have a push turbo also and I experienced the same problems with mine. Seemed to run great but the afr numbers were the same as yours. I don't know if yours is the same but I had trouble with mine because the afr sensor was mounted after the turbo in the muffler. I moved mine to the header just after the collector and afr is perfectly normal now.

Curious about the altitude compensation. Is this something extra built in your kit? I know mine doesn't have it built in.

Hope that helps.

That's why I only deal with MPI, had a miserable deal with one of the other vendors and now its MPI only as they WILL get me what I need in a hurry.

I agree with this ran the 180 and upgraded to the 250 and it runs great with the correct afrs

Looks like the new turbo kits from push are running power commander fuel controllers instead of the old dobeck boxes.

If that is what you have you can take care of the problem yourself by either buying the autotune module or adjusting fuel curves by hooking up to a computer and use the dynojet program to adjust the fuel curves in the rpm range your are lean. If you are trying to run more than 10lbs of boost on the stock injectors and fuel pump that will also make your afr numbers lean.

powder man.indeed the kit does come with pod300,pc5pti,wideband. what I'm saying is ken suggests 8psi should be ok with stock fpump injectors .problem is afr is 14 at WOT. with o2 sensor downstream of turbo.its been suggested to move it ,ken says no way. Christmas now and still no fix.
