Is adding a Polaris extreme or ultimate skid plate worth it?

Or just a place for snow to build up.

And would.you go extreme or ultimate

:thumb: Either or one stump and it's worth the investment

My thoughts are they are cheap insurance........

I would rather have a little extra protection then wishing I would have put one on.

As far as which one, I've run the Ultimate.

Did u get one? Same thought here.. bumper first but figured might as well do at same time.

Check the thin piece of aluminum protecting the oil pump. That was enough for me to get the ultimate which is longer than the extreme.

Here is what I had to do.

First remove bottom rivets for bumper mount and drill holes to fit bolts.

Then leave the metal brace in the nose cone, probably could use fender washer if you wanted to remove it.

Next. Mount front skid plate bolt. Center skid plate. Install 1 screw half way.

Mark thru with marker or long drill bit into skid plate for bottom bumper bolts.

Remove screw holding skid, drill skid holes, I went 5/16 to allow some play.

Then install front bolt and 1 screw for skid plate.

Then install bumper, takes some love as the extra thickness makes a tight fit.

I got it close, then started top mounting bolts and some line up punch to get bolts up and thru.

Mount the bumper, then install your other 4 screws that come with the plate.

RPM Composites Skidplate and Polaris Ultimate Bumper from 2016 will be going on my 850. Lots of hidden treasures riding in the Northeast!

The skidplate not only protects the full bulkhead but also under the clutches and Quick drive/chaincase.

Here is a link to the same setup on my 2016 SKS

Nice, I will be doing a similar setup. think that bumper will fit on the 850's?

So with the carbon fiber skid plates, what kind of durability is there ? While I"m sure it protects what happens when it does take a good hit? Most carbon products when hit, tend to chip, splinter and peel? Anyone have any feedback on this??? Just curious.
