P-22 to P-85, is it a bolt on swap?

From a few minutes of internet research; it looks like Polaris has again changed the crankshaft clutch taper size? Multiple times since the days of the carb’d sleds (30mm). (32mm) for the 700 and 900? Then (33mm) in the PRO chassis. And twice while in the AXYS Chassis. And Now with the Matryx chassis, what are they now? (I’m sure TRS or someone can verify). So I’m assuming the older Polaris-85’s need to be machined to the current taper? Is there enough meat on the clutch shaft to safely do this? Or is there a new part number for a direct bolt on?

If my internet sizes or wrong I’ll edit them. Thanks

The 850 p85 goes right in. Just requires p85 bolt & washer asswmbly foe the bolt ans then add the 1/4"x 1 set screw and lock nut for the secondary to do deflection.

Thanks, so I need to source the newer P-85 from an 850. That’s what I needed to know.

Both use the 3211216 belt.
The part numbers you will need below.
You can source the secondary deflection screw and bolt from Polaris, Venom or TRS.

Does a P-85 from a 2021 XCR 600 fit the 9R crank taper?

Not according to the official Polaris fische. No 600’s ever used that clutch. Even in the old days the 600 used the cheaper /weaker spider. So even if it did “fit” I wouldn’t run it. FWIW

Ok thank you. I just seen a near new take off clutch come up locally for a good price where the guy switched out to electric start.

Clutch for a 650 is the same, but not 600. I have a 400 mile take off 850 clutch if you one. $475 shipped

Thank you. When that one popped up locally for a song, I thought if it would work that I would grab it. Given all the work I did on my P22, I’m going to stick with it for the time being at least.
