From the listed dimensions in the brochures:

Cty Asc
146 - 122" vs 128"
154 - 126.5" vs 132"
165 - 131" vs 137"

Interesting, overall 6 inches shorter. Last few sleds have been 150s but might jump to a 160 this time. Also adding e-start this round.

Crammed the engine as tight to the tunnel as possible, then crammed the intake and front suspension back with it. Rear of the tunnel is shorter too.

They must measure from ski tip to rear bumper. The riot model with the 146" track measure's 130.5. I'm guessing it has a lot longer tunnel.

It’s overall length so it has to be the ski tips to whatever is longer in the back, track or tunnel.

I lined up photos of both and it’s all in the bulkhead. You really see it in the position of exhaust outlet.

Pretty sweet. Really pushing me to try a 165.

A Gen 5 165 is 129.9
Matryx slash 165 is 132

The skidoos look longer for some reason but are the shortest, nuts. The gen 4 doos are long, 165 Catalyst is .4 longer then a G4 154. I haven’t been around any G5s.

Was thinking a 165 matryx slash was 132 and regular matryx were 135 or something like that. Was thinking previous alphas were long. Now i will have to go look. It is insanely cold so i guess i have time.

Something to consider is the larger idler wheels on an alpha, that's gonna soak up some length

Back of track to ski tip.

165 elevated Alpha. 130"
162 boost Pro. 127.5"

1.5" of track for Alpha and Elevate moves Skis ~1" forward.

Pretty comparable.

Interesting, I didn’t think about the flap on the ascender, has to add to the overall length in their listed dimensions.

Terry if you get a chance, can you measure your daughter’s catalyst, just like Summ8 did?

I can do it today if my truck starts. The alpa brochure says something like 137 like you stated. A 165 slash is 132 and a non slash is 135. Remember my daughter's sled is a 146 and we've been using 165. I would have had a 165 mountain max to measure but replaced it with a 155 9r

Awesome. Want to compare it to the listed length of 122 for the Catalyst 146. Thank you!

The older 'standard tunnel' sleds manufacturer measurements would be from ski tip to the furthest point of the snow flap.
Newer short tunnel measurements will be like my measurements + the paddle length with it at the furthest point from the ski tip.

My Alpha would measure at 132" without elevate.

My comment about the 156 khaos vs 165 Alpha was measured from ski tip to rear bumper. If i measure the ski tip to rear track belt, Khaos is ~126" that is a 156 not a 154 Axys chassis. The 154 should be ~1" shorter.
