NEW PRODUCT - 2025+ Matryx Front Arm Drop Kit IceAge

The 2025 RMK PRO and RMK Khaos sleds are no longer equipped with the factory pre-punched lower front skid arm drop hole. We recommend the front arm drop for anyone running our taller ELEVATE spindles on an RMK to balance machine front to rear. This kit allows you do make this key geometry change on your 2025+ Polaris Matryx PRO or KHAOS. You may also run this with a stock front end. Ultimately this will make the machine lighter on the front end to compensate for a taller spindle or make a stock sled without front end changes more lively. This kit maintains the factory hole as well so you can run either based on rider preference or snow conditions.

how does the sled handle with the Elevate spindles using the stock location?

ive had them on my Axys Khaos and my Matryx Khaos, and i think its makes the khaos feel a little more planted like a pro on the trails with more ski pressure but still playful in the trees

I bought a used 2023 9R and it came with a set of your rails, anti-stab, and Elevate spindles. It was Pro that the previous owner says is converted to a Khaos with Raptor shocks. You would recommend dropping the front arm to the bottom hole? As you know, there isn't enough snow here in MT yet to try it out.

I would like to try dropping my skid to the lower hole on my 24 but my buddy did it on his 23 and it resulted in the rail caps being worn quite badly after one season. I did ride his sled and liked the light feel only he did say it was transfering a lot when climbing.

Wouldn’t this steepen the attack angle of the track which is what people are trying to get lower with products like the Avid drop and roll. I know this was talked about a lot more back in the day

I have a 23 pro 163 that has this option from
Factory and have been interested in dropping to lower hole in hopes of having a little less ski pressure and easier to ride and initiate like a khaos but do not want to lose the ability to hold a steep sidehill that the pro is known for. But maybe if I drop to lower hole and soften up front track shock to help counter act as in the past I always add about 2 turns to front track shock to get the feel I am looking for. I don’t know what would be the lesser of the 2 evils. But I do prefer the pro to the khaos for sidehilling but want an easier to ride pro.

Yes, we typically recommend dropping to the lower hole position on the tunnel even for previous model year sleds. It helps to balance the machine for the geometry change on the front end.

Stock Position: More ski pressure/steering effort, better for climbing, keeps front end more planted

Dropped Hole Position: Less ski pressure/easier steering, more sensitive to rider input, increased playfulness, higher COG

The beauty of this kit and earlier Matryx & Axys snowmobiles is that you can run the front torque arm in either position depending on rider preference and conditions. One note with dropping the arm is it usually requires the track to be re-tensioned (lower position is tighter).

ELEVATE in the stock position is still desirable for technical terrain and overall handling compared to the stock spindles. We'd recommend adding a small amount of preload to the front track shock if you don't drop the front torque arm.

Again, the beauty of this is it can be ran in either stock or dropped position and is relatively quick and easy to adjust. One may even be able to do it in the field if it's already pre-drilled and the tools are available.

Congrats on the new 2023 9R! Yes, definitely try dropping to the lower position with your current configuration. Also, it might be worth double checking that the rear suspension is setup correctly as a Khaos. We commonly see customers that either have an eyelet extension or the incorrect limiter strap that does not quite achieve proper Khaos geometry. We also have a three position limiter strap that has RMK PRO, RMK Khaos, and RMK Khaos Plus, position that can help with determining what length your sled is adjusted to.

Do you know if he was using Khaos geometry rails? We usually don't see abnormal tip/hyfax wear unless there's other variables like low snow conditions, RMK Pro rails on the sled, no anti-stab, etc.

Our customers who ask this same question will usually do the following...

Install our RMK Khaos profile rails, ELEVATE, and drop the front arm.

This helps to make the RMK PRO a bit easier to ride without losing the attributes you like about the PRO. You can use the RMK PRO shock and limiter but the Khaos profile rails will allow you to drop the front arm without introducing negative effects like increased hyfax wear, track noise, tip damage, etc. This creates a more nimble handling feel without going full Khaos.

It's not part of the instructions but if you talk to the guys at Ice Age they recommend it. I just installed elevate spindles along with classic rails and 9 inch big wheel kit on my 22 850 Khaos for this season. Dropped the front swing arm to the lower postion to compensate for the higher front end. Along with the fox QS3 floats all around it's a game changer. Now I can't ever ride anything else...that good.

Thanks for the testimony!

In my experience if you are running a big wheel kit on stock rails you will not be able to drop your skid without going back to the 7 inch wheel or running ice age rails

155 or 165?
