Very Unfortunate and Misguided. This is not in the people's interest. Please make your voice heard.
A couple key points.
1. Average recreational spending is estimated to be $16.21 per day. (who ever came up with this number should be fired for it's inaccuracy) This amount lacks any factual or rational basis and conflicts with estimates in USFS NVUM analysis and BLM analysis of the KFO in the Greater Sage Grouse Planning proposal. The undervaluation of recreational usage has directly contributed to the loss of recreational opportunities provided in the plan.
2. Estimated visitation to the KFO has doubled between the draft and final resource plans. However, the recreational resources (trail mileage) provided in the final RMP have been further reduced despite a doubling of recreational visitation. This type of analysis directly evidences a failure to integrate recreational usage in the planning process.

This entire thing is yet another ploy to use OHV recreationalists as scapegoats. They know damned good and well they're going to lose the battle on sage grouse and prarie chicken with energy development, so this is an easy win for them to claim world saving status, since recreational groups are so underfunded in comparison they can't even make a dent in the foreign-bought 501(c) enviromental fraud groups.

Its sad. I wish there was a better way to get continuous funding for groups like COHVCO and BRC and ARRA and CSA and on and on other than personal donations.
