Moving Pro Skid to Assault Position

You can gear it down, as stated above using the pro pulleys and belt does so.

And you need a better dealer.

I think I hear you saying that you want it to hit hard for wheelies, but would otherwise like to maintain the stock performance. Dropping the skid will help, but it'll also trench bad.

What you want is different clutching. I'd probably go with some Belly Buster weights for the initial hard hit and then stiffen the secondary spring to maintain low gearing. Give Carl's Cycle, in Idaho, a call. They'll likely be able to give you a good clutch setup that will give you an initial big hit for wheelies, while maintaining the deep powder performance.

The other alternative would be to add a turbo. That'll keep the skis off the ground all day.

Most of us with Assaults relocated to the Pro hole for the front skid bolts.

Not an apple and oranges comparison due to rail differences but nonetheless, the sleds work better for mountain riding in the Pro hole location in this location.

Do they still push when maneuvering threw tight areas when the skid is relocated to the Pro position ?

Push ??? I Trail ride mine (Assault ) here in Michigan.. And they're a great sled for that , the Pro has a stiffer rear spring so it isn't as nice of a ride !! A Sway Bar would be a great addition and I have considered it .

Change out to 36" and a Pro-Motion .. with 45/19 gears

And of course Raise the Skid to the Pro Hole !!

I just picked up new axys assault, only one ride so far (18 miles)
I'm considering going to the "Pro Hole" What are the negative (and positive) differences? Heavier front end? Less trenching? More ski pressure?
Better trail manners? (Have to ride nasty roads to get to the backcountry)

Also considering zollinger offset spindles to narrow it up a bit.

With both of these mods I'm thinking I'll basically have a Pro with better suspension and a chain case???

Interesting - I have an SKS and it comes with the Pro rails and it's mounted in the top hole. I'm looking for Assault rails to be able to mount in the lower hole for more lift on lower elevation riding.

Let me know if we can possibly work out a deal.

I looked hard at the SKS before settling on the assault, mainly for the better suspension (and the SKS was about $500 more)
As far as the rails the way I understand it the assault rails will work in either position but the Pro rails may stab in the lower hole.
I like the idea of being able to use either hole depending on riding conditions.
