Mohawks on a G4...?

I

IDAHO HOT SHOT

Well-known member
Never been a big fan of stock Doo skis. Ive been running Poo Grippers on my 14 XM the last 2 seasons. Are there any of you out there that run Mohawks on your Xm/ T3's? I'd like to hear your opinions.

Mohawks have a bottom profile in between the SLT and the Power Pro which is a good thing. Powder Pros can be supper aggressive and feel twitchy. We have been running Mowhawks on ProRide chassis and feel they are a great ski. The closet aftermarket ski to the gripper but in some ways better. They have a little deeper edge profile on the outer edges which helps in carves and turns and add a little extra width.

I have coupon codes available so contact me, and offer free shipping to the Lower 48.

Please read the item description thoroughly at bottom of page.

Worst skis I have ever ridden in my life. I have a black with red hoops pair just rotting away in my garbage pile. Granted our snow is different here in the PNW so you might like them better in Idaho.

the ones in your avatar?

what skis do you like? just curious.

Yeah that was a picture before I had ever ridden on them. I spent the money and put the D3's on that sled. They might be great on super light powder but on heavier snow at the end of the day you have twice the fatigue riding with the Mohawk. I know others I ride with that feel the same way.

Sounds like you can get a pair from Chadly for cheap,:face-icon-small-win maybe pay for shipping and a little $$ for his trouble. Wider than the Slt's so they don't dive, good floatation, (hint) cut the rear outside corner off, heat and curl upwards, this reduces feedback through the bars while sidehilling our cranking donuts, less fatigue at the end of the day.

And you have a guy here WILLING TO BUY them but they are so horrible you won't box them up and sell them?

Hey guys just watching this post and thought I put my 2 cents in... I have personally spent a lot of time on the MoHawk with our 2015 T3. Handling in the loose snow is way better than either the stock or gripper ski. And it also handles the hard conditions very well too. The gripper is fine for flotation with it's wide design, but doesn't enhance the maneuverability in deep snow the way the MoHawk does. They help you to feel more in control of the sled.

So an honest opinion from someone NOT trying to sell skis:
Grippers are the best ski for an XM Doo. My buddy has Mohawks, aside from them being one of the ugliest skis ever, they will KILL your arms after a long ride. I rode my bud's 174 with Mohawks, I didn't go more than 100 yards before giving the sled back. (We had identical sleds other than the skis.) The steering effort was ridiculous, in deep snow. I have had Grippers on my Doos for the last two years, aside from wearing out rubbers every 4-500 miles, they are great. And half the price of Mohawks.

My vote is for grippers. They are lighter and wider and handle the deep snow like nothing else. Mohawks are close, but Grippers will go on mine. That being said, I have only tested the gripper vs. Mohawk on the Polaris and the cat. The 850 might be different, will have to wait and see.

I'm not trying to sell my skis. I'll bring them up to the mountain and leave them on my sled deck. First guy that takes them can have them for free...

I have ran the Mohawks for two years in all conditions and they are a massive improvement over stock doo skis. There are many doo riders in the area that have went from grippers to mohawks and never gone back. You would not be disappointed.

Couple friends run Mohawks on there Pros and they seem to work good, on the Doo I prefer the 8"Powder hound better flotation and easy steering holds a line well when carving. They are also on of the lighter skis available.
They will move over onto the 850 for sure Doo skis are not for me.
