Mohawk Ski

Has anyone tried the new SLP Mowhawk Ski on their Nytro? They advertise it as being ideal for the rider forward sleds.

I haven't, but Polaris Gripper skis work well and are 4 lbs lighter than the older style MTX skis. They're good enough that Proclimb and XM owners use them.

I have both, Mohawks are very responsive but heavier steering than the Grippers that turn like butter. I would think the Grippers will work better on a Nitro due to the nose weight and they have a tad more float than Mohawks.

What size carbides are you running? Anything special to mounting the Polaris ski on my Nytro?

I'm running homade 4130 tube wearbars but any wearbars will work. I don't like using carbides, they tear up ramps, bed liner, garage floor, ect. I'll link a thread later from TY that goes over mounting them. You can use either Gripper or Yami rubbers.

Gripper Ski

I installed the Gripper ski on my Nytro this weekend and they are great. The sled steers easier and has way more flotation. Follow the instructions on the thread they were spot on!
