Im selling my ported 09 cyls and SLP pipe kit to inst all HO cyl (ported) with Jaws twins.
All ready has ,Rad valves, timber intake, hi comp head.

Who has had good luck going with Jaws twins and porting ? I will ride it @ 2000ft at home to 10000ft in the hills.

Im thinking I may have lost my mind looking for a a few (hoping 10) more HP.

A buddy wants my old set up so it sold.

Thx

Heard that the twins work very well with good hp gains at sea level to 6000 ft. Above 6000, not so good.

What fuel controller are you running? Has this been done before? Putting 2010 cylinders on a 07-09 bottom end. I would think you would need a ECU reflash to make that run to its potential.

PCV is what I have/had and the porting in the old 09 cyls was done by Jeff at Dakota performance. It worked well , I guess thats why my bud wants the top end with pipe and PCV :)

I will probably buy the new PC with the timing control.

These HO cyl are going out for porting this week . Im after porting with a map that is VERY close. the HO cyls are close to where you can get to with porting in the older cyls. So Im hoping the ported HO cyls with twins will make GOOD HP

I was running straight av gas at home @ 1600/2000ft and plan to have the head cut to run the same with the twins at home and a mix once at elevation.

I have seen a few people posting that the twins worked well So Im hoping with good fuel it will be an arm stretcher.

Twins are going to be be harder to keep tuned. I would think your 09 cylinders are the same as 10 but different porting you could have had your cylinders (09)ported the same as your doing with the 10s

" you could have had your cylinders (09)ported the same as your doing with the 10s"

NO You can not !

Lets just say my wife was knocking on it like a front door for the doctor on the phone. Rugby? not sure but i have wondered if a guy could cut off some rump roast of himself to stay alive. What do you think? could ya?

You will never make good power on av gas switch to a c16 pump gas blend it will surprise you on how much better it will run. It wont take but 2 gals of c16 in your tank to the rest 91 pump to make 100 oct.

Thanks for your in put.
If C116 is 116 octane it will take 40% in th mix with 91 to make 100 octane.
I would have to look on VP 's site to see if its motor octane . I would like to know if this is what you have noticed or if there is something else to know. Thx again.

Hopefully I can get my parts in the mail this week ( dam work) just going to have to hope all this extra work makes more HP than I have.
I thought more peeps on here might have gone down this path and maybe had some insight for me.

If you want an ARM StrETCHer

GET BOOST. HOW MUCH $$$ ARE YOU PUTTING INTO THIS THING. whoops dumb caps lock, I can't type for chit. anyhow, running avgas on a RG Turbo at 9-10 lbs of boost you will be around 240HP. the Stock injectors are limited to about 200-210HP. that's your biggest limiting factor. If you look at a 2010 M8 with HO heads you are staring out at about 165 HP. then add a Y pipe 3-5 HP, and Twin Jaws maybe another 12-15 HP. your looking at maybe 180HP. with a great porting Job maybe another 5-7 HP. max HP about 185-187. I'm all about BANG for my BUCK!

No way the twins will make 15hp riding at 8000 and above!
I bet you loose power.

Agreed though. With what used turbo kits are going for on this site. There is no reason to spend big money on porting and pipes. Especially when riding high elevations. At 10,000ft there is absolutely no substitute for Boost!!!

Dam you guys ! Lol
This this is for fun and I don't know it me+boost+steep alpine = crashed sled for sure. Haha . I've been riding for 30 years but very little in the mountains / they humble you in a hurry :)
I have a 2011 M8 I could ride if for some reason this one wont make power at elevation . I've not heard of twin pipes not making more power then a single but thin air is not what I have experience with.
