This is an El NINO related storm .... mostly dumping in CALI and about 3 inches H20 in central Arizona.

SEVERE COSTAL FLOODING EXPECTED WITH UP TO A FOOT OF RAIN A FEW MILES INLAND UP AND DOWN THE COAST FROM BAJA TO THE OREGON BORDER.

Southern tips of NV , UT and CO may get 1-2 inches of water.

Rest of states expect maybe a 1/2 inch of water.

There is a 100% chance for at least 2 inches H2O for Coastal areas and Sierra Nevada Mountain range.

This is 4-11 January 2016

Thanks for the reports Don...was looking forward to some major El nino burials this season...any speculation if January is going to deliver beyond this storm?

At 6000 feet IMHO expect a foot by Friday 8 Jan and another foot of some pretty wet snow / slush by Tuesday 12 Jan

California coast is getting 2 to 8 inches of rain this week. Most of it in less than 48 hours. Looks like San Francisco gonna get the most rain totals

Computer image models state these above numbers to be VERY much on the conservative end for snow totals.

Upper computer estimates 4 plus inches water from San Francisco to Tahoe which could mean 4 plus feet of heavy snow in 3 storms Mon thru Tuesday !!!!
