Hello,
As many of you may have heard Lookout Pass is proposing an expansion to their ski resort. As the USFS considers this proposal they are seeking input from people who recreate in the Copper Basin, Lookout, Stevens Peak area. They have hired an outside consultant to collect information on who recreates on the area and what type of recreation is taking place. Attached you will find a letter explaining how you can participate in their comment/information gathering process. You will also find a map that allows you to explain what areas you snowmobile in. You will notice that there is a meeting in Montana to discuss the proposal. You do not have to be present at the meeting to have your comments considered. One thing to be aware of is that there is a club proposing a non-motorized backcountry ski area in the Stevens Peak/Copper Basin area. I have not been told exactly where the proposal is, but I wanted you all to be aware. If you have any questions please contact me or one of the contacts listed on the letter.
