Lava Mountain Lodge

Just called Lava Mountain Lodge to check our reservation. The folks said the snow is a little low and might have to trailer two miles to Brooks parking area. Snow in the forecast though. Lava said they are not charging cancellation fees during the low snow and offering guests 10 cents off gallon of gas for a limited time. Thanks for the honest report, we're coming out anyway, it's the annual vacation. If we don't go sledding we'll entertain ourselves at the bar. Guess there is not enough snow for Mountain Property across the road to block the trail yet. James and the LML crew get ready for us. pray for snow.

There is enough snow to get to where you want to go. There is not enough snow for the people across the street from Lava to block the trail yet. You will probably want to go up a little higher this year to find the good stuff and watch for avalanche conditions even if you don't think the danger is there. Snow is loose underneath and some wind loading has occurred.
