Hey guys,
I have an 07 660 and running 280 jets in the snowies. I've heard alot of people running 260s. Just looking for some input, but I don't want to melt it down!!!

That sounds super lean to me.

I have an '04 660 with bored carbs and run 330s at 8-10k.

mostly we're riding from 10500 to 11500 so we're a little higher (on the mountain that is) than what your running.

When I ran a 660 I ran the stock recommended jetting and it ran perfect.

Beleive it or not but I am running 240-250's in my Carl's 660 IQ in the snowies. Bored carbs and stock 08' IQR pipe. My egt's are under 1200 and pistons and plugs look good. Pulls like a mother "u know what". Some would say it's too lean but I know another guy that is running the same jets in his 660 and it too runs great too. Just read your plugs and pistons if you put a leaner jet in with no egts. Good luck.

I have a 685 in an iq cooke city I run 290, I believe the newer ho in the iq runs a much leaner jetting package than the edge chassis. Probably the pipe scavaging quality of the iq. The iq motor of my 685 also gets much better fuel mileage than sled guys 660 in and edge. So take that for what it is worth but at 290 I have never hit the det at cooke city

Sheez... I was running 340s in Cooke. No wonder I had to dump in gas on the way back from Top of the World.

I guess I'll lean it down and see if I can stick it. :)

Yah when I saw what you were running I figured you were trying to help the arabs with their fortunes :-)
I had Dar at 330 and probably should have been closer to 320 and maybe she would not have had the full open throttle loading that I thought was from snow in the headlight plenum. Does't that thing have det?

Nope, no DET. Wish it did. I don't think the small blocks got DET until the HO motor.

No but you can drill and tap the head in the same location as the HO motors and run the HO cdi, and you will have DET. I've got it set up on my 660 VES. And I run 420 jets but thats at close to sea level..
