As you watch the flooding in the Midwest, have you noticed that there
are no farmers running around with st olen plasma TVs or holding stolen
liquor over their heads. There's no looting or yelling "Where's Bush?",
"Where's FEMA?, Where's my check?", or "Why isn't the Gov't out here
saving me and my farm?"

Likewise, I've also noticed there are no reports of any other country coming
to help or sending aid.

Where are all of the Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in restoring Iowa and helping the folks affected by the floods?

Where is all the media asking the tough questions about why the federal government hasn't solved the problem? Asking where the FEMA trucks (and trailers) are?

Why isn't the Federal Government relocating Iowa people to free h otels in Chicago?

When will Spike Lee say that the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines?

Where are Sean Penn and the Dixie Chicks?

Where are all the looters stealing high-end tennis shoes and big screen television sets?

When will we hear Governor Chet Culver say that he wants to rebuild a "vanilla" Iowa, because that's the way God wants it?

Where is the hysterical 24/7 media coverage complete with reports of cannibalism?

Where are the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?

How come in 2 weeks, you will never hear about the Iowa flooding ever again?

Shocking contrast isn't it???!!!!

Shhhh you dont want them to catch wind and have an influx of soon to be "native" Iowans moving into the state and crying HELP do you?

Sad how some people think it is others responsibility to fix their problems instead of doing what they can to help their self before asking for freebies from everybody else.!!!!!!!!

i was kinda thinking the same things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its because they know how to survive, ever herd the song " country boy can survive" the dude in the city got killed and the country boy still lived on

When the tornado's where hitting here in Iowa, they came on the news saying "we have more than enuf voluntires" .

There was one that hit around Sanborn Iowa. The news interviewed the couple, and in the back round was "every neighbor in a 10 mile raduis was there with there personal equipment" moving the destroied barns, and such. The owner of the property was close to tears, from losing almost everything, and the combination of all the help from everyone else....
VERY NICE TO SEE THEM COMMING TOGETHER!!!!

I laughed because the TACTICAL WEAPONS mag I picked up had a "Katrina rifle". A decked out Barrett AR-15 to fight off the looters!!!!! Bet they would have never expected to come around a corner in someone elses house to find themselves staring down a barrel!

Those same farmers are not too worried about getting their checks as they have seen this time and time again whether it be hail, drought, flood ,insects, disease or price supports and they know that come hell or high water, they always get their checks. As for the looting goes, that's where the US treasury comes in.

x2 good points...white american people seem to be more into helping people out than stealing and looting. If anyone saw axemen this season it showed a storm/hurricane that devestated the town and many of the logging roads...this was a hundred year storm and it was wicked...however I don't even remember hearing about it in the news...looks like they bucked up and helped eachother and didn't need the govt to wipe their *** either...

The difference is one group isn't afraid to put in a hard days work while the other just sits on their azzes and complain about not gettin anything done for free. Waiting for the pity factor. I hate lazy f*ckers!!!!

Rascal, great post!

As a person that calls north central Iowa my home, I have to agree with your observations. I found them quite amusing as well. Luckily, my home suffered no damage.

When all that crap happened down south, everyone was running around saying what a horrible natural disaster it was. I sat back and thought... "Natural disaster? Nope, I call that Natural Selection! Too bad more of them didn't stick around for the fun!"
