Ive got the three prongs on the bulb fitting the headlamp, but when I fasten the retaining clip it doesn't fit snug and is loose. Am I missing a part?

Lets see the old bulb.. that one looks like a twist and lock bulb
but thats not a twist and lock housing.

I'm putting my stock hood back on and in the process I replaced the damaged headlamp with this one I got off E-bay. This is the original bulb but a replacement lamp. the bulbs three little prongs (if you can call it prongs, they fit in the recess of the lamp) fit in the three recessed area's of the lamp, but the retaining clip does not keep the bulb snug in the lamp.

There is a bend in the retaining clip. Position it so that the bend is the only part of the clip contacting the bulb.

Got it.

Got it mtsledder, I was putting the clip in backwards so only the flat portion was holding it in, and no pressure was on the bulb. Thanks for your help mtsledder!
