I have put on around 800 miles on my 2008 IQ Dragon so far and have never had an overheating problem, at one point I drove on gravel for about 3 miles in early march this year and no problem the temps stayed under 160 F. Also this was on a fairly warm day like 32 F
So, on the trail should not be a problem.
Addendum:
If you do get an FST and you do run into overheating problems it is likely because there is an air bubble in the cooling system, which can be removed by bleeding it, following the procedure outlined in the manual.
