heat up a regular curved one so its flexable then push on it hard. Us a screwdriver or something for the corners to makes sure they stick. Leave it in a warm area for a couple hours. Might work

You would think, that as popular as the gopro cameras are becoming. That 509 would incorporate a mount into their helmets by now. Does it take a rocket scientist to figure this crap out?? Why do I have to cut a hole in my visor or hang this thing off the side with a sticky mount? When one could be molded into the polycarbonate so easily.

Helmet mount is pretty much obsolete once you use the chest mount.

IMO it provides a better POV from the riders perspective.

If you still want to run the cam on your helmet..I do not see the difference of having the cam an inch to the side...not important for it to be dead center on your helmet?

Here is a couple pictures of what I ended up doing. Got the idea from a post on BCR. Think it will work great. Tried a couple different approaches this one seemed to give me the best angle.

I used the helmet strap and mounted it through the visor. Has worked flawless all season so far. Great view for the video also.

Video from it-

what i did was just trimmed the visor rite behind the indent for top screw and used the curved base and the curved arm facing forward, and works great.

Would like to see some more pics with the 509 helmet and GoPro. will be getting one of these cameras

Same shell as a 509.....

I have mine mounted upside down under my visor so it's really close and easy to see/hear.

I like it this way so that I don't have to worry about losing it when going through the tight trees and it's easy to see the start/stop button just above my normal vision level. It's barely noticeable with goggles on, a little moreso when wearing sunglasses, but not too bad.

I have it mounted on the helmet itself, not the visor.... I had to combine a couple different mounts to get it to work how I wanted. The way my AFX-FX-17 (same shell as the 509) helmet is shaped it is pointy on top so I had to either have it forward or way back. This way I would also have to take a direct shot to the face for the camera to get hit.

i did this as well, i rolled my sled over myself, like 7 times, it pushed me as it rolled with me half underneath it and half with my feet dug in trying to keep it from rolling forever, scratched the hell out of my helmet, sheared the center visor screw and the camera and mount was still on the visor......

Actually ended up ditching the whole helmet mount thing and bought a chesty mount. Much better than the helmet. For one you don't have the extra weight up there and you don't have to worry about it in the trees. Plus when watching the videos It gives a much better angle you actually feel like the rider in the movie instead of way above the action.

I have both and I prefer the chest mount over on top of helmet. It is also easier to tell when you are recording.
