Will the Gen 4 850 motor bolt into a MY 23?

interesting question. an additional motor mount was added with the '23s and the mount locations/orientations could have changed as well.

In short, no.

Cylinder has different bosses for the motor mount.

The G5 has 4 motor mounts, so there is a boss on the cylinder that the front mag side mount bolts to.
Riderz in Edson Alberta has installed a G4 into a G5, They have a plate they designed to allow the front mag side mount to bolt up.
