crossfire - M 55lbs weight differences???

Alright....I just sold my Polaris IQ and Im stronly leaning towards a crossfire 800. Cats 800 is the only one on the market that I trust at this point but ive got some questions...

I was reading in my supertrax magazine and they are claiming that the crossfire 800 wet weight is 610lbs...

But the M8 is showing a wet weight of 555lbs.

Arent these sleds the same chassis?

Where is an extra 55lbs coming from?

Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Maxx

F&^% supertrax!!!!! Those are 07 weights and should not be published as 11 weights, that magazine is pathetic! My 09 standard crossfire spec sheet says 471 dry and 564 wet with a lot of easy weight to remove. Remove sway bar, boss seat, pipe and can, remove insulation, float conversion, 2 wheel kit, cut flap, remove windshield, remove metal hood screens and put on frogzskins, and the list goes on.... A 2011 crossfire 800 should weigh like 461 dry because it has the float skid and floats on the front....

Must be a typo

Advertized wet weight of my 2010 Crossfire 800 SnoPro LE is 557lb
Dry weight is 464 lb

It wasn't....I picked up that supertrax mag for free at haydays (it wasn't worth the effort of carrying around) and in the article it said that cat has not published weights since 07 so they are just going to use those weights.....

Those mentally challenged people who make that mag send that kindling to me each year, what trash.

If you can't actually get a clue about what you're reporting... don't print ANYTHING. The CF has some weight that an M doesn't, wider arms that are heavier, sway bars, and the larger cooler. Other than that, they're the same aside from track length. The wet weight it higher due to a larger tank for one, but you don't have to fill it all the way up.

I've got a CF (09 1000)that's very light & it took minimal $$ to get it that way.

I just parted out an 09 crossfire sno pro and an 09 m8-153 and there are lots of things that are heavy duty on the cross fire !! like all the garlock bushing are steel instead of aluminum the skis are wayyy heavier the rear suspension is heavier and reinforcements in the rails,,, there are links that connect the bolts on the A arms side to side ,,,,it goes on and on

Kawgrn, what's a garlock bushing????

All the a arm bushings on my LE are the same as our HCR, but never heard of that one!

I figure the skis would go in the trash asap, they're junk for mtn riding!!

not a single reinforcement on my skid that isn't there on our M's... I'm trying to think of what you would mean there. There's a bunch of crap I took off the machine before it even touched snow, but in the things that stayed the sled was pretty comparable to the M from what I could tell. (08 on the other hand... TOTALLY different)

THANKS!!!

Tahnsk everyone! I kind of assumed that these weights were inaccurate. But I wanted to get some accurate info before I buy!!

LOOKING FOR AN XFIRE 09 800, with lower miles.

Anyone got one lemme know!

Maxx

Good luck man, I know a number of people who have looked for that sled or the 2010 version... VERY few on the market. Not sure why you can find an M easy, but a CF is difficult to find.
