Guys,

Here is the scenario, tonite I installed different weights, install the skid plate. there was a dusting of snow so I figured throw 6 gallons of gas with the recommended oil premix and take a 5 min. cruise just to scratch the itch. When I get back to the garage I notice the check engine light is flashing. Any Ideas? The only other thing I have done is wire in a ethanol switch.

Exhaust temp. sensor circuit voltage.

sensor signal is above 4.9 Vdc for at least 2 minutes and engine running above 3000 rpm or signal is below .6 Vdc. for at least 2 min.

Can't provide any more info.

MFD Blink Codes
The check engine LED will display a blink code whenever the
ECU determines there is a current problem with one or more of
the sensors.

When a blink code is displayed, the CHECK ENGINE light will
illuminate for 1/2 second “on” and 1/2 second “off” with a 1
second “off” interval between close, except for exhaust
temperature sensor codes where the engine has to run over 3000
RPM for 60 to 90 seconds depending on model to trigger a blink
code.

Double check the 5 blinks pointed as pointed out above.

The exhaust temp sensor can go bad at times...

Do you have any other CFi polaris sleds there (600, 700, 800, 900)... they all have the same temp sensor.... substitute that and see if it clears the code...

Maybe one of your good buddies has a CFi sled..

Make sure to put anti sieze compound on the threads of the sensor before you put it back in the pipe.

Exhaust Temperature Sensor Specifications Resistance Values

2.3MΩ @ 392_F (200_C) - 76Ω @ 1652_F (900_C)

Disconnect, pulling only on the connector, the temperature probe connections and re-insert them checking for any broken wires or burnt insulation.

K--Type resistive sensor with resistive characteristics that change due to temperature. The ECU senses this change in resistance
and uses this information to correct fuel and/or timing. This sensor is difficult tomeasure if temperature is below 392_F (200_C). Disconnected or Default temperature is 1100_F (593 _C)

Thanks For The Help! But.

Guys.

This morning i went out and examined the exhaust sensor and wiring after you guys pointed me in that direction. I followed the wire to a plug that was partially disconnected, I reconnected the plug and started the machine and the check engine is still flashing 5 times. Does the code have to be cleared to eliminate the light and is there a way I can do thisor do I need to take it to the shop.

Thanks,
Lano

I picked my sled up with minimal gas, so I could control the first tank.

Lano,

Idling will NOT get it hot enough to reset the ECU...

You will need to run it under load.

A quick ride should get it hot and clear the code ( knowing now that it was disconnected. )

Good luck.
