New to Polaris this year after riding Doo for 40 years. Traded my 02 MXZ500, kept my 04 REV 600SDI. My dealer is telling me that belts for my 700 are about 140-150 bucks. YIKES!!. Is there any cheaper options out there? I don't want to sacrifice performance so I will buy the expensive belt if needed.
Thanks.

If your sleds calls out the 3211115 belt then you can use the 3211080 from older Edge sleds. The 3211080 belt is a softer belt and will not last as long as the 3211115 but cost 1/2 the price. Also some reported the 3211115 belt grooves out the clutch. Some say better performance from the 3211080 vs. 3211115.

You can also buy a Carlisle Ultimax 3 or XS belt. They come with a 1 year warranty, send the pieces back to them with a check for $6 and the warranty card.Get a new belt in the mail in a couple weeks.Costs anywhere from $60-80 depending where you buy them

The 3211115 belt is the way to go if want a belt that will last a long time. You get what you pay for. The only time I have ever seen a clutch grooved by the belt is when there is a problem with snow or dirt injestion.

different side angle

I looked at the specs and the belts have a different side angle 28 vs 23.5, so if the side of the belt will only be touching on the outside edge, it might slip and you would loose performance.

Gates Extreme is another pretty good option although you must let this belt warm up and break in before you get on it hard. or it will slip it's a really hard compound with kevlar belting inside. I just picked one up for my edge on ebay new for like $50. I also have run the ultimax 3 with good results.

The 115 belt was developed for the 900 cfi models to help with belt life. Quick, easy and profitable way Polaris fixed or so called a fix for the 900's. Yes the angles are different as well as the compound. The belt internal construction is also different and should last longer vs. 080 belt. What are you looking for in a belt?? Long lasting or performance, you cannot have both! At twice the cost I would go with the 080 belt unless I had a 900 CFI. If your clutches are set-up correctly you will not need such a tough belt like the 115. Check out Aaen's Team's conversion spring kit.
