Brp should be recalling the chain and gears on these 23’s with the amount of failures so far. Would like to see an update like the tki gear retainer also.

In the group of 5 that i ride with all of us have g5’s and two of them are making metal in the chaincase, not just a bit of metal either. Local dealer said that more are starting to come in with chain issues also. Im also interested to know what the failure rate is.
What is the recommended service limit on one of these chains ? At what point would you recommend changing the chain, and at what intervals should the chain case be opened and chain gears visually be inspected, I know there’s away to measure between a certain amount of pins but I can’t seam to find that information. It’s in one of my manuals but not sure what one it’s i
the specs don't fill it up to the check plug350 ml is just under 12 ounces, which is what it says on page 268 in the manual:
Chaincase oil
Capacity
XPS Synthetic chaincase oil
75W140 gear oil
that meets the API GL-5 specification
350 ml (12 fl oz(US))
I dump that 12 oz bottle in there and put the check plug in when it starts running out the check plug hole.the specs don't fill it up to the check plug
