My father in law had to change out has speedo bearing, so in turn had the chaincase all apart, but now cant get it to go into reverse? He thinks the odd shaped spacer on the bottom gear is in backwards (the one that goes against the bearing) does the smaller part go inside the gear on against the bearing. it is kind of hard to explain, but if you have had the case apart before i thought someone might remember. Thanks for any help

The chain case can be a pain to get together right. If the reverse arm doesn't drop into place when you slide the cover on, it will go together and you will not be able to shift. Pull her apart and try again.

Here's the fich off Yamaha's partfinder that shows where everything goes.

Iguess this doesn't copy and paste like I thought it would. Go to snowmobiles and then the year then model ( I used 03 rx1er because that's the one with reverse as standard equipment) then go to "track drive 2'' and it will show you the breakdown of all the parts.
