I'm only talking about stock - and on 2024 sleds with the new scratchers.

Can they be left down when riding pow?

I leave them down all the time and never broke one. Just annoying they want to stab you when you have to roll the sled

I'm lazy - I leave mine down all the time - never broke one - or been stabbed by one but it could happen

I havent put mine up in probably 900 miles....
My main coils got mildly deformed from doing some very dumb low snow esrly season log slides but they still work great.

20250214_160647.jpgJust make sure you pick them up to load on a sled deck. My wife forgot...

they will likely get busted up and make for a long ride back to the parking lot. when i do that i always forget i have left them down and reverse and getting unstuck always comes back to bite me and i end up damaging the scratcher.

Has anyone had issues from backing up? I still haven't tried it as I've had past problems doing so with other scratchers that were supposed to be reversible.

Leave mine down on my doo and poo's for years all day long. only put them up to load into the trailer or sled deck. Never broke one.

No real downside to leaving them down at all times. There is a little more resistance for sidehilling and such but it's not a problem. They will wear out quicker if they are in contact with hard surfaces. $99 wear part well spent for most.

It scratches are great. You can leave them down once you unload. Make sure you put them back up before you load. They make the sled run way cooler on the trail than any other scratcher I've ever used. And I have been a lifetime fan of the ice storm scratchers until these.
