can i get rid of the rods on my rear suspension?2008 summit

Hew I got an 08 summit 146 and want to get rid of the stock shock for a coil over but the rods are in the way. Can I get rid of the rods?

Not without further modification, the Linkage it mounts to in at the bottom of the front arm would just flop around. You need to find a solid mounting location for the lower end or get a narrower shock and keep the rods ...Fox float.
