Just a quick reminder that Idaho Montana and Washington no longer reciprocates or acknowledges each others state registrations. This actually has been in place for a few years now. So if you plan on coming to North Idaho from out of state, you will need to purchase a non-resident license/sticker. They are the same price as residence stickers, $31.50 There will be more emphasis patrols in Bonner County Idaho this year.. Priest Lake, Roman Nose, Trestle Creek areas. 80% of this registration fee comes back to the area designated when you fill out your paper work for their groomer fund. So help support the areas your ride.

I'm told that Idaho and Montana will still reciprocate at Lolo Pass.

We always buy non resident stickers no matter where we ride. Period!
$31.50? Fricken cheap!
And thank you for the info!:face-icon-small-hap

We will be up in North Idaho around New Years on our snowbikes. Does ID require stickers for snowbikes and if so where is the best place to buy them? In Oregon we just have to run our offroad stickers like we would in the summer. Oregon does not recognize a snowbike as a snowmobile yet.

I found it very easy to simply call Idaho Dept. of Recreation and order what I needed for my snowmobiles. They arrived quickly (3 days) Here is an excerpt from their page.

"Those customers wishing to purchase a 2017 sticker or permit may do so by calling our Registration Program at 1-800-247-6332."

A snowbike in Idaho is considered a snowmobile so a sticker is required. Same goes for an ATV or UTV with tracks that the vehicle weight is under 2000 pounds.
Out of Idaho Parks and Recreation definitions:
Snowmobile. SNOWMOBILE means any self-propelled vehicle under two thousand (2,000) pounds unladen gross weight, designed primarily for travel on snow or ice or over natural terrain, which may be steered by tracks, skis, or runner.

You can go to the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation website, "https://parksandrecreation.idaho.gov/" and click on snowmobiling. In the center of the new page is a green box that has the title of "My Winter Vehicle-What's Required". Just fill it out and it will tell you what tag is needed, or not.
Hope this helps!
