my apologies if there is a few threads regarding this already. My buddy and I are looking for skis to compensate for our huge asses. Im 255 without my gear and and my skis will dip in left and then dip in right no matter where i am at. I love the stock skis but i think me being as big as i am i am able to overpower a little bit wider of a ski. I want to know what skis are the best of the best for floatation only. I DONT CARE ABOUT THE TRAIL.

I have had C&A mtx's on my freeride prior to this so i dont want biased opinions. I want someone who has tried all varieties or at least know about them. SLP? C&A? Simmons? Sly Dog? etc..?

I had a pair of SlyDog Powder Hounds 8" on my Nytro. They kept that heavy pig on top of the snow. I really liked them. I am #280 ready to ride and think the stock skis on my XM worked pretty good last year. Just sayin.

The stock DS2's work very good, the only other skis that seem to work as good or better for most guys are the Polaris Grippers or the SLP Mohawks. The Mohawks are a little more aggressive and take a little suspension adjustment to lighten the steering effort.

Lots a choices , The Grippers are feather lite to the touch, Too lite for some, steer and work great on Doo,s

I was told today that Grippers are very good on the Xm's. Good enough that the guy was asking if I had a set, after trying them this week.

There is a big thread over on Dootalk about skis...basically comes down to Grippers being chosen by most as the best performing ski on the XM's with lots of testing of all brands having been discussed....I just finished throwing a pair of Grippers on mine yesterday and cant wait to see the difference!

Shoot. I am as bummed now as I was when I was told that this afternoon! Wish I wouldn't have sold all of them.
He told me that they greatly reduced the amount of "waller" or side to side instability that the Doos have when sidehilling. I didn't 100% believe him unitl now.

Well, what do think of the C&A MTX?

My short list based on jack squat for info, is for me to try the MTX or BX. Longer MTX worries me for sidehill, wish BX was wider.
