If the weather/snow conditions are alright plan on coming out end of March/beginning of April to the Snowys. Only rode there twice a few years ago. Could anyone point me in the direction of open meadows and some hillclimbing areas? Plan on staying at Albany Lodge. Thanks

From Albany you will have to go west on Q and take T trail north across Libby Flats to trail U. You will be at the top of the mountain where there is access to all the popular hill climbing areas (Lake Marie, Widowmaker, etc.) There will be a bunch of parks and meadows along T trail as you go up.

Check Avy Forecast before you go up that way

Colorado front range and steamboat avy zone forecasts can also be used http://avalanche.state.co.us/

If the snow conditions are good you may want to pack some extra gas - we have run low a couple of times making that trip up and back when the snow was deep.
