Anti Stab Kit

Can Someone please explain what the purpose of an anti stab kit is? I know a lot of people on here have done it I just don't know what it does. Also, your opinion if it is necessary on a 2014 m8000. What brand do you guys recommend?
Thanks Guys

It stops the track windows from catching on the front of the rails. This can happen from a loose track, track ratcheting or extreme attack angles. The kits are cheap insurance, I have used bdx in the past

It also helps with preventing tree branches or sticks punching through the track windows and tearing up your track. IMO

Track windows can catch if you run over a rock at the right time too. It's more of a safety blanket though since I've seen sleds with blown motors, busted off a arms, and roll damage, but I've never observed a stabbed track. I live under a rock, so maybe it is more common.

That being said, I have the BDX one on mine.

I've never stabbed the track on my M7, but I had a anti-stab kit on my old m1000. I've seen one M-series and a couple 2013 proclimbs do it. My Pro-Lite came with a kit already on it and I still busted one of the rail caps (from clipping a track window I assume) when I had the center shock cranked up. Without the kit I probably would have been buying a track and a new rail. It takes the right combination of track tension, suspension compression, and terrain to get the rail tip lined up with a track window but it can happen.

An anti stab does nothing to protect from trees punching through the track windows. It keeps the rails from punching through the windows. Trust me I ripped a track with an anti stab kit because of trees.

Because no one mentioned what the kit is:

Most kits are 2 new rail caps and an aluminum rod that runs between the 2 rail tips with a set of 2 mini idle wheels to also keep the track from torqueing inward.

We just run the Cat kits. We got them from Country Cat for around $30 I think. Cat came out with a different rail cap to just postpone the problem a little longer on the new sleds. You need to get a kit on your sled. It is just cheep insurance. Not sure if the 15's have them already.

2015 sno pros limiteds etc come with anti stab kits from the factory.

No need to drop the suspension just make the rail cap holes a little bigger and install... Just did this to my 14 with 700 miles and couldn't believe how much my old rail caps were worn!!

Do it right in the sled. Probably easier with the skid out but it can be done.
Have you guys had any issues with the bdx kit? mtn tek makes one that they claim works way better and doesn't break like some others, but it costs 2 times a much. Whats your opinion? is there any modification to the skid that is required? or just a direct bolt onto stock.?

I havent broke a BDX kit, just make sure you get the right kit, pro climb is only 2 wheels, M was 4 wheel I think

ten minute install with skid in sled

Was not trying to be rude but if you read my post earlier all u need to do for install is just drill out the old rail cap holes bigger and install takes about 10 minutes... Sorry if you thought I was being an a## hole Ride steep and deep!!
