Best aftermarket running boards for Pro Climb

I'm on the market for some aftermarket running boards... Looking for some opinions on my 3 options:

1: BDX Pro-Lite
2: Arctic Cat Pro-Climb
3: Skinz Airframe


Anyone know the difference between BDX & Arctic Cat ones? They look identical online...

Anyone have any personal comparisons between the BDX/AC that have the integrated square foot traction pads vs. the skinz Sheet metal screws?

My concern with the tubular design of the Skinz is that my foot will slide off easier than the other 2... Thoughts?
 
Those newer skinz with the adjustable ride height look neat. Kinda look like they'd hold more snow with all the sharp angles but it's probably negligible.

Dat price tho.....:face-icon-small-con Looks like they're only available for Polaris sleds anyway.


Might as well look at the B&M Fab boards too. I like them on my M-series.
 
BM Fab. Ridden them and skinz back to back. Skinz grip system is slicker and ices up.

Burandt Boards here too. Best board out there for this sled! The best parts of the polaris are the boards and skis for the pro climb

I most definitely want to go with those Polaris Burandt Boards... for the price and how great they feel I think I would really like them...

Skinz airframes and thieir damn traction screws have ruined 2 pairs of my boots and has blown two holes in my knee from falling and landing on them....

I would never go with a traction screw design again. they give great traction all the time... but a little too good and boots get expensive
 
Those poo boards look good and I like the way they feel on the poo. Has anyone installed them on a M chassis?

There IS a very recent thread that someone put them on his 13 or 14 M8000, I think.

Could I see a close up/ more detailed picture of how you mounted the burandt boards to the existing stirrup/ front of tunnel? Want to see if my "skills" are up to par with this install before I start cuttin . Thanks
 
You have to take everything off (normal) then you have to cut the boards to clear the brake and chain case but you can leave about a 1/4" connected. The brace in the front has to be cut in the bend and angled in more and welded back up. then I cut it off on the bottom and welded on a piece of angle to bolt up to the pro board original front bracket. to figure out distance front to back, just look where I mounted the rear, actually used one existing rivet hole. The pics kinda show you the rest. the plastics I just pushed in real hard and then drilled the plastic to old rivet holes and few new ones. It takes a little work, 2 people is handy when positioning for welds.
On the back bumper.... I had to wedge fat chisels under it to get it up so I could slide it under, I also ground the edge off of the boards, one side right there is full thickness and then tappers in. very little only like 1.5" distance.

Here's some photos of my install. I wanted to plug the hole in the tunnel where the old board mounted in the rear so I made a little patch piece. I think it made the tunnel stronger there and reinforced the hole where the new board mounts at the same time. Since I was doing a tunnel wrap, I wasn't too worried about a piece of aluminum scabbed on the side of my tunnel... the wrap hides it pretty good.
In the front, I opened up my footwells a little more than Wyo did for snow evacuation. It was a toss up whether to leave more material for strength or less for snow evac. I'm glad I opened them up, they seem plenty strong enough and snow doesn't build up there as bad. I did a skid plate at the same time, so the skid plate also helps add strength to the area...
Word of caution, be careful when bending the stock stirrups to match the boards when the Burandt boards are in place. I broke the aluminum mounting tab on the front of the Burandt board and had to take it to a buddy to get welded.
I ran my carriage bolts out instead of in like Wyo. Doing this only narrowed up the sled 2" instead of closer to 3" but I like the way the footwell is cleaner and a little bit wider for my boot.
