2026 Ski-Doo REVEAL

Read the post again, I mentioned eliminating parts and fasteners, not taking weight out of the rails, bumpers, and the tunnel. But beings we are talking about it I don’t believe any of those things are underbuilt on the Polaris.
My Buds that ride Poos all do same mods as soon as they get em... tunnel dump, alternate impact a arms, bumpers and rail stiffeners. They know, these guys have bent tunnels and a wall of STOCk a arms all twisted up. All I do on my Doo is a skid plate and knee pads and I go. I can tell you my '24 Expert 165 is probably the same or lighter than my buddies '24 Boost 165 with all the **** he added. Can't be for sure as its in the shop right now for bad injectors.......

Ok.

Doo could trim another decent chunk of weight and not sacrifice durability, while simplifying their sled. Would be nice.

Ai think Doo has a grasp on what they can and can't cut weight on. Remember it's not always about the actual weight and it's impact on reliability, but cost. They are already at $25k, so switching to lighter materials are always more expensive. And even when they do come up with a good change, it takes time to validate. The 32" has been on snow since 2021, as I'm sure most changes you see in the 26 sleds have been as well.

Again, eliminating parts $$ and fasteneners $$ and simplicity of how things go together/come apart. I am not saying they need to build it all with the lightest, thinest, most expensive materials they can find.

Huh? I can take my entire hood/side panels off in less than 5 minutes, and that includes finding tools. The Poos guys may need it to be a tad faster with what you consider "simple" fasteners, as they need to change plugs so often.

I say all of my comments being a 30+ yr automotive engineer (Product Development) that understand what Doo has to go thru with changes. Most ppl don't have a clue. Make it's simple, but I want a turbo, buddy tracking, easy starting, cook my food.... but it needs to be $10k

Ok you are right, I hope they leave the Gen 5 the way it is forever. Lighter, simpler, and easier to work on would be awful.

Lighter is always something the engineers are evolving. It will never be light enough for many. Buy guys like me that understand the effects of too light, 500 lbs ready 2 ride is a great target.

I snow checked a 2026 Expert and now I’m worried that the incoming tariffs are going to raise the price of the sled before I can pick it up.. Anyone hearing anything on this? I know we will have to wait and see but this could be a real problem for skidoo customers in the US..

IMO next year may affect prices, but I am trying to stay positive in saying that.
This trade war is going to hurt everyone’s pockets, I am not pleased with my Country adding tariffs to US products. Stupid move only thing that will do is drive the cost up for Canadians.

I listened to the latest Polaris shareholder call. They are not hugely concerned about the tariffs. They said the tariffs from Trumps first presidency (still in tact) drove the price of their units up but they do not think they will be impacted by the tariffs from this term.

I have to assume this applies to Ski Doo too but I don't have it in me to listen to those calls.

Talked to my salesman and he informed me that starting last year it’s a $1000 deposit and it goes straight to BRP. So I would loose a grand if backing out. So one is gambling a $1000 that terrifies will be dropped, or you will be paying over $5000 more for an already expensive toy with a very high depreciation rate. Probably not ordering from BRP.

If the sled looses its warranty when BRP takes your money then thats an issue. I don’t think its legal in canada for a manufacturer or dealer to keep a deposit.
During covid when I was looking for a new truck, I had 4k out in deposits and got them all back when I found the truck I wanted.

I have always picked up my sled if I ordered it, so not sure how that works.
I assume the contract you sign in the snow check order makes it pretty tuff to get your money back. Probably cost you more than a Gand trying.
