09 M8 weight?

The cat is only 20lbs heavier and its a 162 instead of comparing a 153 and 154. I thought the doo promotions said they were "way" lighter, it couldn't be doo using marketing tactics and lying..could it? They wouldn't do that sort of thing would they.

A Doo 154" actually has more footprint than a Cat 162", so it is a valid comparison. Gotta remember the Doos are 16" wide.

wider track and more power is part of the reason a long track xp will allways spank a 09 cat.so even if they weigh the same,it doesnt really matter

I beat every 08xp I saw with my 07 m1000
The closest run I had was a 09xp with a 135lbs kid on it and I was on my stock 09 m1000 and weigh 210lbs.
As for the track put a PC on the xp and it will be twice the sled

but the 163 doo has 2608 sq inch track.cat pc only 2430.i wouldnt pay or even trade straight across for a pc

At the Boise and SLC snow shows we pulled a 09 M8 sp 153 out of box threw a Snow check seat on it and it was 455 at both shows. The 2010 if you take suit case off will be 10-15Lb lighter. So out of box Boss seat and can should be around 440

How did they drop 15lbs with a 4lb lighter crank and a 4-5lb lighter seat. The rest of the sled is the same as the 09. Does not make sense. I could see it weighing 5-7Lbs less than the 09 with a boss seat at most.

I have never understood why people argue about 5-10 lbs. Thats the differance between taking a @#$% before you ride ! Your boots weigh more then that ?

Exactly!!! I dont get it either.

If your pissed about your M weighing more than something else put yourself on a diet, its alot cheaper. I think sleds are about as light as they can get using the same materials to make them, pretty soon there gonna be about as stong as a pop can

Yes, I find that the sleds track straighter and don't bounce around that much after a good three-course meal(desert, steak, desert) and a few extra hot-pockets in the trunk!
