Go 7

I posed this same question to my dealer 2 years ago, as I was dead-set on getting a CFI 600. The thing is simply this. 144short track = less flotation 600 = less power. 700 CFI = bulletbroof motor, lots more torque, excellent fuel mileage. 155 = more flotation 700 155 CFI = better/ more efficient sled for not alot more money. Nothing against the 600, I just think the 700 is a better sled. I sold my 700 and now ride an 8. Sometimes I wish that I would have just souped up the 7. Buy a 700 and put a single pipe on it and get a PC3. BUT dont go with SLP's weight set up. Run the stock high elevation weights w/ SLP's spring. If you are heavier, you might have to switch to the 800 secondary spring. Just my opinion. As you may have noticed, my dealer talked me into a 7 :D

We have a 155" 600 in our group and it is great on gas when compared to our 800's. Still a blast to ride.

unfortunately the 700's especially the 2010's are about non existant to find. if you know where any are, especially in the midwest.... i am all ears. ski

The 6 is at least as bulletproof if not more than the 7. Plenty of power at low elevation. Add shocks, boards, scratchers, maybe a few vents and ride the hell out of it.

My carbed '08 gets way better fuel economy compared to the cfi's from '07-'09, when I dump in my 6 gallons of fuel they need 7-8. Nothing really wrong with them though, haven't compared to a cfi2 yet, maybe this winter.

Hey Marv1,
I am going to build up a 600 Switchback Dragon for the Iron Dog trail class ride. Since the shock package is sound, I will add a Widetrack windshield, possibly a 15 gal Trail Tank, maybe a cool bumper/skidplate, ice studs with the stock track, a Lead Dog helmet light, a Polaris projector beam headlight and various other odds and ends. Prior to the run I will run a 136, 2" paddle track. This will be the ultimate long distance traveller when it is done. A big jump from the 550 fanner I ran last year. If you go RMK, you will not be disappointed. Cheers.
