Project 07 M8 with a lot of goodies

Bought a wrecked 07 M8 mostly wiring and a hood but heres the build.

Took the valves out and cleaned them since i didnt know the last time the previous owner had done it. heres some before and after pics. just used a shop rag and some emery cloth.

I stripped all the decals off (im not a fan of orange or a lot of decals)

Got the DD out, pulled the drain plug and there was prolly 3mm of metal shavings on it. is that a lot? well either way im gunna run it till it ****s out. but i flushed it and put new oil in.

So i got the axle out to put my BDX two wheel kit in. wow that thing was bent!

Started porting the track tonight, im about half way done. im doing two 1 3/8" holes down the center between the boggie wheels

I leave the sled one day and it turns into a shelf haha.

well i got the steering post on, odi grips and the handguards on. one tip dont buy the timbersled guage bracket, if you roll your guage will be junk to so i scrapped that and used it to mount my CDI haha. i think ill custom make one instead. Maybe ill integrate it in with my boondocker mount? hmmm not sure how ill do that. also put my speedwerx pipe on and my google warmer, starting to come together i like it. Painted the springs black too, i did a ****ty job but it will get me to the end of the season so i can get em powdercoated white.

Oh yeah! cant forget i put my teather on too!

Got the snopro airbox in today, along with the 2Cool dash vents, boondocker switch guards and the 2011 seat. cant wait for my Y-pipe to come in!

well i was board last night and just decided to pull the reeds and put the V-Forces in to save some time.

Headlights came in on friday...waiting on mounting hardware.

Pulled the skid out and took the shocks out. having all the shocks revalved and stuff for my weight and riding style, also i like a little faster rebound in the front so im having him do that too.

got board tonight so i was screwing around making vents to cover the teardrops dont look the nicest but the function is there haha.

not sure how im going to mount my speedo since its missing two of the bolts but i have a guage lifter coming from madscientist. ill figure something out.

Well went to pick up my shocks tonight...ended up going home with a set of floats and 50 bucks less in my pockets. Im happy with em...got all of that put back together and the rear suspension back in. Also got the 2Cools side vents in, they look real good in white. ill get pics tomorow. waiting on speedwerx to send me my dang ol y pipe!

been a while since i posted in this but it hasnt changed much. I just got my VE tunnel last week. i gotta start polishing the pieces and the main tunnel. i cant start on it just yet cause im waiting to get my air rivet gun and a high speed air saw so i cut the aluminum not melt it. Im going to do the 2012 cat tailight cause i like the frame that goes around it.

I got a set of CPC twin pipes to put on it, the SW single just wasnt what i wanted. The CPCs have to get high temp painted again. saddly i cant afford to ceramic coat them.

The boondocker box was junked out about 2 weeks into the season and replaced with a boss noss one (same as additude)

Koso EGTs are getting installed

I bent the Adjustable Riser setup and am going to a T-top steering post and im going to try to get my fatbars on but only if money is flowing

Im getting some billet 8in boggies made sometime before the snow flies

the white 2Cools have to get recovered...long story short i was tunning my buddies M7 162 and ran into him riding my sled.

I made the wrecked 07 Hood into a mod hood and painted it flat black may run that this year if i can finish my vents.

All this will start as soon as i get done with the dirtbike i bought that required a crank replacement. the sled has to be done by december 15th so ive got plenty of time yet

I got it in the garage all ready to go ill get some updated pics asap

might be doing a build like this sometime soon just basic mods and cleanup kind of like what you did and then swapping hoods between whatever i buy and my m7 since i got a custom decal kit on that hood. Anyways how do you like the power of this sled ? Whats your guess on hp ? How do you like the twins ? Anyways i know the threads old if you answer those questions thats great and give more pics either way nice build !!

really been forgetting about this thread. i got this sled done for my ride in december. it ran suprisinly good, i had to rebuild the sled 2 days before i left because i found some scoring in the cylinder from a water skipping incident. i do have to unplug the fuel controller when riding high elevation though.

i was planning on selling this sled but after going through 3 clutches this year, my pickup needing a new motor, and purchasing a 800 mod race sled for my girlfriend i just cant afford it so im building a new clutch setup. im also replacing all of my painted parts with powdercoat. this is how it sits right now, after a bad trip to the black hills at the end of the year its in tough shape. i need a new primary, secondary, bellypan and i have to put the black hood back on and i need to replace the a arms. i had some problems with the twins melting hoods but i am working on moddifying the pipes to get them to fit under the hood better. also did a oil delete on it.

the sled is for sale as it sits but i doubt anyone will buy it. i have too much into it.

keep an eye out for the build on my gfs sled. its her first sled
