There is no doubt you can run large boost numbers on a stock motor with a perfect tune and good fuel. I like to start with the bottom end and work your way up. I tend to over build that way if your tune isn't perfect or you get some bad gas the motor can handle some extra abuse. It may seem expensive but so is replacing a motor when it lets go.

Really need to ask yourself what you want from the motor and what you want to spend? Want crisp throttle response and fast spool? Or do you want to run of launch control and hit 30psi and could care less about fuel price or throttle response lol

A lot of different ways to build a motor and one way may not also be the best for the next guy.
