Anyone who knows Polaris probably don't care much about the new engine.. Sure it'll be fun while it lasts.. but the big news here is a new TPS!!!! Finally!! Do you know how long people have been waiting for this?

Also nice to see the narrow ski stance. That was overdue as well. Nice sled, but I have too many bad memories to jump that ship again.

LOL

I can't imagine why any doo guy would be worried about the 850 Poolaris....if the same engine department developed it as all of there past engines we can go ahead and start the threads on various powertrain failures

However, my doo 850s are proving to be pretty darn unreliable too...starting to wonder if DooDoo hired some Poo guys

Got to remember doos 850 has such poor clutching that the 165 hp can't out climb the older 800 Etec, so I don't think Poo has to worry much about it with there new one..

Good job Poo for stealing more of doos market share..

So anyone know the weight of this bad boy on a 174?

Polaris's track record for new engines is far from good, they are offering 4 year warranty so people will snowcheck. I have a couple buddies that ride Polaris they are staying away from the 850 for this year but over all nice sled from Polaris good refinements.

Polaris has 4 years of development invested in their new 850 engine. 3 years waiting for Doo to come out with an 850, and 1 year tearing it apart to see what makes it reliable.

Doesn’t seem like doo 850’s are seeing the reliability of the 800 ETEC’s so far.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess lighter than a doo but with more power.

That's just stupid, 850 absolutely destroys 800 etec although old etec outruns an axys. Polaris better be turboed if your gonna run with 850 doo. Only stock 2 stroke that's even close to skidoo 850 is new cat and it doesn't get the job done but much better than polaris

Not sure what you are talking about. I’ve never seen a completely stock xm even come close to a stock 850. And when you clutch them both the 850 walks away even more. But, it’s no secret you’ve disliked the 850 from day one so there’s that.
