Quick clutch question

I have a '97 XLT special that still runs great. Completely stock. I am having problems with the belt slipping when in a high load condition like trying to ride slowly up a ramp into the truck. I have a brand new belt installed and it still does this. There is rubber building up on the center part of the sheaves on the drive clutch so it seems obvious this is where it is slipping. Any adjustments I can do to make this stop?

Thanks,
Phil

Take off the belt and scrub the sides in hot soapy water. Rinse with clear water and let it dry. Likewise remove the clutches and wash the sheaves in hot soapy water. You can remove the glaze when they are clean using scotchbrite pads or very fine emery cloth or something like that.
