I need some help. Im snow checking a 15 and the dealer told me that they are offering you can buy the big bore and the sled retains its warranty. But my question is how is the big bore compared to a turbo?

For climbing a good working turbo will beat a 872, however when it comes to bang for your buck and reliability the 872 is the way to go. I ride with a couple 872s and they work really well and they are a lot of fun. If your dealer is willing to honor the warranty as well I think you cant miss on that deal. I just spoke to Dave yesterday about an 872 for my sled and I have to say he is a super nice guy and great to talk to . Dave is not the take your money and run type of guy. The guys that I know that have 872s have been really well looked after.

the 872 is nice all round package for the regular consumer that cant afford the big money motors and have the reliabilty that i think is better than stock with a ton of torque when set up properly .i quite enjoy the service and the motor that dave has provided for me over the four years that i have owned one.

I really like my 872, But it will not beat a turbo in a climb in deep snow condition, I just put a Silber turbo in a buddies 13 800 pro, I'm about 200 ,he's about 300 with out gear on ,and no wrenching on it at all ,bolted it in ,that things a beast!!, as long as you have 4000.00 to spend!!

Silber is running a deal right now on turbo kits. That is the way I would go. I ride with a guy with one. Runs great and no dicking around. Turbos have come a long wAy in the last couple years.

Its a tough decision between the two but I ride around people with turbos and rode a couple and they are a blast but if the 872 is about the same it would be easier to go that way

Thats what I've been thinking i don't see how a 872 could compare to a aerocharger at 7.5 making about 240 horse
I'm not sure if they are comparable they really are 2 different worlds I also don't believe Turbo'd Doo's are as advanced as much as cat and Poo so for me I Believe the 872 is proven and the Doo turbo's still needs some R&D .JMO

So slapping on a 872 kit and the sled still retains it's 4 year bumper to bumper warranty? From the factory? From Trystad? From a third market insurer?

...what were the costs associated with the 872 kit?

I went with the 3 year warranty and the 250 rebate but i was told the factory honors the warranty and i think he said it would be around 3500 for the 872 kit

I have 2 Trystad 872s on my sons XMs. clear advantage over a stocker. In the trees I would rather have the 872 because it runs PERFECTLY all the time. If I was riding 9000 feet plus I would probably run a turbo. I have seen very few 2 stroke turbos that run really well day in day out. There is no way with my skills I could keep three 2stroke turbos running well.

I have had both as well. Couldn't get the t xp to run at all. 872 runs strong everyday. They are two different worlds. It really depends on what/how/where you ride. I tuned my 872 at 2200 ft and have taken it to 10,000 ft, all I did was adjust my clickers and race fuel mixture.
