I have a XTX and probably ride 95% in the mountains. Yes, swap the track out. A 2" lug track will fit with plenty of clearance when using your stock 9 tooth drivers. I recommend swapping out the skis for some mountain skis as well. Makes a big difference in floatation.

does a 2" fit under it?
i thought the tallest you could go is a 1.75

Yes 2" clears no problem with stock 9 tooth driver's. I can fit my fingers between the track lugs and front heat exchanger.
You'll have to remove the tunnel protectors though.
