Stupid venting question

I've got a 12' assault that's out of warrenty, so I'm not really in need of the paasoracing cap. Instead I would like to vent the tank itself. I can't find any pictures of the tanks done. Are you guys putting a inline valve or filter in or just straight hose. Also where are you putting the hole and line at?

Passoracing sells the tank vent too.

I don't have a pic of mine on my phone or I would post it.
