What are we shooting for target rpm on a turbo sled? 8000-8100 like stock, more or less rpm? Is it different depending on what kit you're running? Does it really matter that much with a turbo?
I've never seen a dyno graph for an 800 turbo sled, as they are elusive, so I have no idea what the hp curve looks like or how fast it falls off from peak.

Thoughts or opinions?

On my non-HO motor I've had the best luck with 8000-8070ish. It pulls a bit harder at a little less, but I loose some back shift consistency. When I ran an HO pipe on my non-HO motor it would pull anywhere from 8300-8500 and was an animal, but lacked some bottom end consistency.

These numbers were observed on my stock tach so who knows if it is accurate.

So 8400-8500, maybe even 8600? is not that unheard of for a target RPM for an HO motor.

No. Not 8600.

You will need to find where yours is happy! On the HO800 I'd target 8100 - 8300 maybe 8400 rpm depending on your LCD reading. Play with your weight in the primary, you will feel it when you find it.

My non-HO likes 8000rpm, I've had it up to 82 - 83- 84 and it doesnt like that.
