Looked at them last night and there are 2 side panels and a nose cone piece which is the whole hood, air intake, windshield, gauge cluster etc. I was talking w/ an AC rep and he said you could remove the pod with 4 screws and disconnect one wire connecter and it will come off. That pod weighs quite a bit also. Will be interesting to see if some weight savings could be had by modding it.

--Between the exhaust can and the the hood assembly, seems like you could lose at least 20-30 lbs.

Agreed. Looks like there is potential with the aftermarket comanies to get rid of the intake ducting and do an intake similar to the current aftermarket intakes on the M. That hood unit was surpisingly heavy for how compact it is.

sounds like an air-frame mesh hood is in the order!!
